Project Life 2014: Weeks 35 & 36

Hi there! I've been "catching up" again... it seems I'm perpetually behind a few weeks but I'm still plugging along.  My process hasn't changed all that much but I have been trying out some different journaling fonts. For most of my pages this year I've been using Just Realize, but I'm sort of getting tired of that one so I tried a few others for these weeks. On week 35 I used Quirky & Messy, and for week 36 I used Becky Higgins' handwritten fonts, CK Becky and CK Jot.

I'm really favoring a faded look to my photos lately, and I use different filters in RadLab to achieve the different edits. I find that this also helps make the spreads look more cohesive. The kit I used for this week is the same one I used for week 12 - I love how versatile the Storyteller Collections are!

2014 Project Life Weeks 33 & 34

Today I'm sharing Week 33 & 34.  For week 33 I decided to play with some GORGEOUS stuff from Celeste Knight. I love her designs, especially the floral patterns.

For week 34 I used the amazing new collection from Digital Design Essentials, Memorandum. If you love office supplies, you'll love this collection! I keep things pretty uniform for my PL, but I did switch up my journaling font this week - I'm looking for something a bit more readable.  Can't decide if I like it yet though.

August Layouts

Hi there! Here's what I've been creating this month...

The September Storyteller was just released this weekend! It's jam packed as always - I especially loved this template and the different layer styles. I used one of the pencil styles on the "you are" and the newspaper styles on some of the paper layers.

My boys went back to school this month and these grade cards were perfect to help document it!

I had to reach into the archives for this photo - back to 2012 - but I'm so glad I got this documented! One of my favorite memories of my daughter.

When I first saw this template I knew I had to use it! It was the perfect way to show off these fun pattern papers. I used it to document a few things about my littlest guy right now.

This last one is for the 3 way challenge that just went up today at Pixels & Company. I love the unique color palette of this kit, I think it's so pretty!

And that's a wrap for August... see you next time!

Project Life 2014: Week 32

I finished this up about a week ago, but forgot to post it here! Here is my week 32:

The theme of this kit was all about getting away and going on vacation - which sadly did not fit in with anything we had going on this week so I wasn't able to use much of the word art, but I was still able to use a lot of the pieces. What I love most about this collection is the color palette - it's so yummy!

Also - you can probably tell from the huge alpha - the highlight of the week was getting to see Paul McCartney in concert! One of the best nights of my life for sure! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Project Life 2014: Week 31

Welcome to my week 31. Still plugging along, still really enjoying documenting life this way. One thing I struggle with a bit is trying to balance photos with product, and having too much that I want to include. I'm pretty strict about sticking to just one spread per week, so there are many photos and other tidbits that don't make it into a spread. Trying to remind myself that it's ok if I don't include everything - the enjoyment is in having little snippets of real, everyday life to look back on and remember how life was at a given moment in time. Also, it's kind of a fun challenge to sift through things and decide what to include/how to include it. It's a nice process to sort though photos (and the thoughts that go with them) and take notice of things - that's always been one of my favorite things about scrapbooking.

Here's a look at my week 31 spread:

Disneyland Photo Book + A Special Feature

Last September, we took and epic week-long trip to Disneyland. I started scrapping our adventure as soon as we returned and I finally finished it up last month and now I have a beautiful book I can  hold in my hands. I absolutely love how it turned out.

I decided to scrap this trip chronologically for the most part. I was inspired by the Project Mouse line of products by Sahlin Studio and Britt-ish Designs, which is mostly what I used. The templates are Project Grids by Amy Martin. I had the book printed by Heritage Makers (I have a monthly subscription and I've stacked up a lot of points, so whenever I want to print a book I usually only have to pay shipping.)

While I post most of my layouts here, I didn't actually post any of my Disney pages when I was scrapping them. I decided to save them for one big post. Since I'm posting photos of the finished book, I won't bother to add the layouts here, but you can find them all at Scrap Stacks.  Also, today I'm being featured over at Capturing Magical Memories, and you can see more about me and my Disney pages over there.

Without further ado - here's a look at Disneyland 2013:

Project Life 2014: Week 30

Today I'm sharing my Project Life spread for week 30.  I'm a week behind, but since I've been consistently a week behind for a while now, I'm ok with it.  A week behind is the new caught up :) For this week, I used products from the August BYOC at The Lilypad. I love that with the BYOC, I can mix and match any designers products and they all work well together.
